about our products; So you might be thinking, "They just picked out some good comments and disregarded the critical ones". Our response to that logic is this; We welcome you to google our products, look in any forum out there. Look long and far...you will not read a negative thing about us or our products from anyone who has tried them! Hi just to say I received and fitted this a few days ago and it is fantastic. I am a pretty 'serious' player I suppose you could say and took the decision to remove the vastly more expensive 'Headway' undersaddle pickup from my flamenco guitar as it was just impossible (After 3 years of trying!!) to get a properly balanced sound. Your system I fitted myself with an hour and it plays perfectly balanced with no further messing, and sounds miles better at a fraction of the previous cost. I did already buy the 'other brand' of these 'disc' pickups for my acoustic guitar so I knew they were good. Yours sounds exactly the same for less than half the price. Thank you JJB! Julian Ward. ( England!) I really enjoyed how simple and fun the installation was to do. The VTP-200 system with the end pin jack upgrade is very convienient, it looks great and I am very impressed with the sound. I also appreciate your attention to detail. You provide a well made product. I did have to move the piezos a few times with double sided tape to find the tone I like but the experimenting is half the fun! I am very happy with the results! The VTP-200 really picks up all the resonance in the sound board. It sounds full and clean with PLENTY of brightness. I even tend to roll it off a touch. Thank you Jessie, Scott Clarke. "Dear musicians, I have just received my JJB 330 for my Taylor today. There was some delay because of Christmas and New year (I live in Canada), but Jessie has been comprehensive. He is a great seller and would have found an arrangement with me if anything went wrong. Anyway... I have installed the pickup (easy to install, I am not a handy man at all!), tried it in an amp and wow, I don't even have words to describe the sound. It was natural, as if I played it unplugged! Usually, I don't really like playing with my guitar plugged as there is some "electric" sound. But now, finger style picking, palm mute... : the sound is reproduced with perfection. Go ahead, for $50 + free shipping, it is way better than the other "brand names"!!!. Thanks again Jessie!" Ento. Jessie, I am loving the Prestige 330 pickup that I just installed in my Taylor DN3 Guitar. When I preformed with K&K PWM's, people commented on my sound and I gave them credit. I plan to let fellow musicians know how happy I am with your pickups as well. You have a great product that captures the natural sound of your instrument. I have a very percussive style. The K&K's at times tended to give me a strange almost muffled beat, "like I was slapping the body of my guitar". Last night I played the same original songs that I have heard that muffled sound before with the K&K PWM, on the same sound system, with the same host running the PA and I did not hear that muffled beat at all with your pickups. You won me over! Hawk Reynolds Hi, Jessie-just a note to tell you how happy I am with the pickups I've bought from you. I installed the latest one in a 20-odd year old Fender Concord acoustic of my sister's, and it actually sounds better than my more expensive guitar in which I installed a Shadow (marketed by Gibson)top-sensing piezo 2 years ago. And it was less than half the price! I don't know how you do it, but keep it up-you're on my favorites list. I just wanted to let you know I received my order (PPS200) today. Thank you!!! I had an old Alvarez guitar that didn't have a pickup but sounded great by itself. Now I can plug it in and it doesn't lose any of its great acoustic sound. Great product!!! It is so simple to install too. Anyway just wanted to let you know how much I like your product and look forward to doing more business with you in the future. Thanks, A Very Satisfied Customer, Randal Richards Dear Jessie, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your pickups and what they have done for my guitars. Your pickups are by far the best on the market and they are the only ones that I use on all of my guitars. They are very much a part of the Red Dog sound that cannot be achieved any import or domestic pickups available on the market. My customers are proud to know that your pickups are both completely hand-wired and made in America. In today’s changing times, our economy needs more qualified craftsman such as yourself and your product is invaluable to the music industry. Through the good times and the bad you have been there for me and made every single pickup as if it was your most important one and I firmly believe it’s the reason for my company’s success. You are the backbone of Red Dog Guitars and because my guitars are built around your pickups is the reason my guitars are so great. I have tried everything on the market from Mighty Mite to K&K, all the way up to overpriced Fishman and nothing delivers such a full range in both sound and signal. I look forward to many more years of both a close friendship and product alliance as I’m in firm belief that your pickups are the BEST! John McNair, Red Dog Guitars 2006 I have the Artist Prestige 330 installed in a handmade dreadnought which I made with Palo Escrito back and sides and a stiff sitka spruce top. This past weekend I took this guitar to Guitar Center and plugged it into a variety of acoustic amps, ranging in price from $99 to a $999 Fender tower amp. I also plugged in a variety of Taylors, Martins and Breedloves of value up to $3000. The opinion of the two of us playing and listening was that only one guitar we tried sounded as good as mine plugged in, and that was a $999 Breedlove. I have to say that this pickup system, simple and inexpensive as it is, stood up and surpassed to our ears, any other guitar/pickup system we tried. I believe Jessie has a pickup here to be reckoned with. Good job Jessie, and thank you from a satisfied customer. I will be building a dreadnought using Macauaba wood for the person who was at Guitar Center with me, and he wants your Artist Prestige 330 in his guitar too! Kevin I installed the vtp 200 in my 12 string S12 seagull ,your product produces the guitars natural voice with excellence ,I am very very amazed and pleased with your product and highly recommend it and will take my axe to my local luthier to introduce him to your product as well. For the record ,I am plugged into a brand new acoustic Ag30 amp ,and your vtp200 , incredible acoustics at an incredible price. You are a stand up guy and would like to thank you very much. I,ll Be back for more. Robert A Cook Hi Jessie I installed it within minutes of receiving the package. The installation was fairly straightforward. The hardest part, at least emotionally, was drilling a hole in my favorite guitar. However, the end result exceeded my expectations, it sounds amazing. Thank you for your outstanding customer relationship. Your communications with me throughout the research process prior to making my purchase was far more than I’d expected or received from anyone else. Regards, Ian Jessie, Just a quick line to tell you how satisfied I am with the VTP 200 with end-pin you made for me. I installed it on a 30+ year old Conn. But, I screwed up and placed them too close to the bridge pins which caused the A and B strings to be in contact with the piezos when restrung. As you can imagine I had a huge string vibration rattle. I was afraid I had ruined the piezos. I then decided to try to 'UN' super glue the piezos. I dropped a little paint thinner at the base of the piezo and slowly worked it free (obviously this was a little tricky). They appeared to be intact so I went ahead and remounted them (further from the bridge pins). My guitar now sounds great! I figured I had ruined them but they held up against my ineptitude. Thank you again for a great product, John Jessie Just wanted to say how happy i am with the PPS-200. I've finally found a pickup system that brings out the Acoustic in my 1974 Ovation Balladeer [1111-6, straight acoustic]. The key is placement options! Thanks Jessie for giving us Options! We've done business in past and I have been quite satisfied! You are a good and honorable man. Gus Wanner Hi Jessie, just wanted to drop a note and say thanks for your great service. I had a guitar with a fishman sound hole pickup and traded it off because it sounded too tinny. I took a chance on ordering your pickup mainly because of the reviews I had read from other people. All I can say now is WOW. I will show and tell everyone I know about your product and service. Thanks again from a very satisfied customer. Ray Hi Jesse, just writing to let you know how i got on with your Prestige, self-fit pick-up. I followed the instructions from your web site. Very easy to follow and understand...It took now time at all! I used a 13mm wood bit, on a very slow speed, and Super Glue Gel. It was sooo simple! The sound is just superb... can't believe how effective it is. I'm running my guitar through a Fender BXR 25 Bass practice amp... I'm a bass player, what can i say. I like full bassy sound! It sounds quite stunning! I'm very very surprised! You're producing top quality equipment at budget prices! The rock box compliments the over all very well. I love my 'cheapo' Samick 12 string and now it sounds even better! WOW! In this time of economic depression it's really great to find a success story... and boy should you be successful! You really are producing a great product at an unbelievable price! I may just purchase a few more from you as future protection against your success and obvious price hike! LOL! Thank you Jessie, you Rock! Gary 'Mitch' Mitchell I wanted to say thanks for the great service! I used the pickup last night at a show and it sounded amazing. It was very natural and it had plenty of output. You do a hell of a job, this is my 3rd pickup I have bought from you and I will be back for more. I currently have 1 guitar, 2 wooden ukes, 2 banjo ukes. all with your pickups installed. They all sound great, as always. Thanks again! Adam Townsend Hi Jessie, I received my pickup in the mail today and I am absolutely thrilled with it. The quality is outstanding. The price was incredible and the customer support that you gave was first rate and I can't compliment you enough for that. You just don't find that these days. I will be sure to tell my musician friends about your web site and hope that I can send some business your way. I don't spend much money but if the need arises I will certainly be a repeat customer. Let me reiterate; I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase and I mean THRILLED! Can't thank you enough. I really appreciate the price to quality ratio. I almost feel guilty. :) I am pretty financially deficient so it really means a lot to me. Sorry to ramble but I'm really impressed. Thanks again, Jeff Jessie, I just wanted to thank you again and to let potential customers know what an honest and straight-forward business person you are. I had a slight problem with an acoustic pick-up that I purchased off the E-Bay site and it was solved quickly and over and above satisfaction. Looking forward to dealing with you in the future. Thanks! Clell (Ohio) Recieved my PPS-200 today. Took all of 1 hour to install. I made a cardstock jig , using the two outside peg holes as reference, marking string and saddle placement, then cut to fit the internal bracing. I used some packing tape rolled to hold the piezo's in place (after some thought as to where I really wanted to place the transducers) and a couple of thin strips of tape to hold the transducers so the wires would be out of the way of the peg holes. I was able to glue both piezo's in place at the same time, with relative confidence that they were where I wanted them. Then only minor panic as I drilled a hole through the side of my Jasmine (not a bad guitar for a cheap one). New strings, a quick tune, and POW! A nice acoustic sound, (and passive to boot) very close to what my guitar sounds like unamplified, with flat EQ, even with my early 80's Peavey TKO 80 I keep plugged in as a practice amp. I have nice, even output on all strings (just a tad weak on the high E, should have shifted just a tiny bit to that side, but this is being very critical as to my installation) Thanks for being honest about your products. I was totally impressed with the true sound, and for a fraction of the price of the other, bigger names. Eleven stars for good sound and incredible price. James T Martin I have done a few local craft fairs with my Sweet Baby Ray Cigar Box Guitars with your pickups and people are amazed at the sound they produce. Since I switched to your pickups the difference is like night and day. Thanks again. Ray Dear Jessie I got the three head pick-ups and have fitted it/them to my guitar, I have taken some pics (as the guitar is very unusual) and will send them to you when I am able. The guitar is a Skylark acoustic with what is called a double funnel construction. That is, it has no soundhole but is open as the neck/ cutaways and incorporates high grade bracing. The body also incorporates a built in baffle which enhances bass response and gives a very big sound. The sound is magic with the pickups. Ian M Hi Jessie,Just wanted you to know that I installed the pickups last night and strung her back up today. I'm very impressed!. Great sound, easy install and exactly what I was looking for. You have definitely hit my favorite sellers list. Thanks for all of the advise and guidance. The project worked out great. I'm considering doing the same thing to my 12 string Seagull(straight acoustic) that I've had for so many years. You gave me a great product for my use at a great price and invaluable advise..Thanks..David I really wanted to let you know that I finally got some time to really play and have semi-permanently affixed the original single I got from you to my viola. Man, this pickup is cool! I can't believe the gain you get from your design. I don't even need a preamp. In fact, there is so much gain that I am tweaking my settings to compensate for feedback. Yours just sounds so much better than the other pickups I have gotten. I can tell you that once I decide which instruments I want to permanently electrify, I will probably get a couple of more units. You can count on the fact that I am telling everybody I know who would like to add a pickup to their acoustic instruments, that they should contact you. Way to go! I need to stock up so I have some extras when you get famous and have to start charging $100 a piece for them. :- ) I now have an incredible, newly upgraded electric mandolin that sounds awesome. It is as good or better than an original equipment electric mandolin. Thanks again, Brian Surks Hi, Jessie, I have been remiss on getting some sort of feedback to you other than the one-liners allowed me. I have gotten several of your products and, obviously, that should speak quite well of them, but there's more than that. I am very impressed with them. Great output and clarity. I have not had ANY feedback problems with them (and I have cranked them up!). I have installed most in acoustic Drednaughts. I have had MANY nice comments about the sound of my guitars. After some experimentation I have a couple, three, different places I have mounted them with great satisfaction in the tonal reproduction of the guitars. I've referred them to some friends here and installed a couple in other people's guitars. Everyone is quite impressed. I still have a couple more guitars I haven't installed pickups in, yet. They wil probably get yours. Kudos to you on your great products. They are cleanly made, and well-constructed. Many thanks to you!! Lee Muller chickenpicker Wanted to express my thanks for one amazing pickup. Been out of town and returned to pickup waiting for me. Thanks for going out of your way to make it right for me. This will work great for me on my mandos. It's by far much better than I expected. I was blown away on how good it sounds. So much so I just ordered another external pickup. No modifications on this one. Just as it is, going on my Martin. Left positive feedback. I'm very glad I stumbled on your auction. Thanks! JOHN AMANN Thank you for your recent advice on the dual piezo pickup for my Admira spanish guitar. I have had the pickup fitted for a week now and just wanted to say a big thank you for such a great product. I have been playing acoustic guitars for 30+ years and have some expensive systems fitted to other guitars but these pickups sound just as good. On the nylon strung guitar the sound is so natural and full and there is no noise pickup from the rest of the soundboard.(on some transducers you get the sound of your sleeve rubbing on the guitar). I will be ordering some more of these to replace some under-saddle piezo's in the nearfuture. Only took me about 10 minutes to fit too. Thanks very much, John Wastnidge Thanks a lot! This will be my 3rd guitar powered by JJB transducers. I really like what you guys are doing with your company. I play in a semi-pro working band and have at least some influence locally on musician opinion, and I have been talking JJB up in the last year or so as a solid new company with a great products at very musician-friendly prices. Thanks so much! Dan Liechty Your dual transducers are a great link between my beloved Guild that I've had for 31 years, and my Fender amp. I wanted a true acoustic sound and I love it. Thanks for your great product and service. Charlie Baker Received the pickup today. I tried it on a dulcimer and am pleased with the results. I am a dulcimer builder and am considering incorporating a pickup into some of them. I believe your product is what I have been looking for as the acoustic sound is not altered. Billy Walker Hey Jessie, I just wanted to say I put the PPS-200 in my 12-string guitar and the sound is simply awesome. You are putting out a high quality product, and a great company to deal with. I will be coming to you for future equipment for my guitars. Thanks, Jeff |
