WAYNE'S 1955 GRETSCH NEW
YORKER PROJECT
Jessie,
Here are some pics of the my 1955
Gretsch New Yorker. I was important to
me that I install a pickup system that
did not alter or require drilling holes in
the guitar. Thanks for working with me
to make this possible. I made a small
clamp type plate to mount the tone and
volume controls in the bottom F hole. I
then routed the external end pin jack
out through the top F hole in the guitar.
I made a wooden holder for the end pin
jack and attatched the wooden holder
to the guitar using the original guitar
end pin.

No holes drilled and your dual pickup
system gives me control and the
rock-a-billy sound I was looking for
from this nice old Gretsch.
WAYNE REALLY
DID A GREAT
JOB UPGRADING
HIS VINTAGE
GRETSCH WITH
MODERN
ELECTRONICS
WHILE NOT
COMPROMISING
THE HISTORICAL
INTEGRITY OF
THIS BEAUTIFUL
INSTRUMENT.
THIS GUITAR
TRULY IS A
SHOWPIECE AND
A GREAT PART
OF THE
GRETSCH
HERITAGE.
THANKS FOR
SHARING YOUR
PROJECT
WAYNE!!
